Obituary of Carolyn Byers Cole

Carolyn Rae Cole, 69, of Moneta, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on Friday, December 22, 1944 in Richwood, WV, a daughter of Ray Byers of Moneta and the late Ruth Caldwell Byers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Cole. Carolyn was a hard worker who had previously worked at Bunker Hill Foods, Sam Moore Furniture Company, and most recently at Staunton River High School in the cafeteria. Carolyn loved traveling, nascar racing, camping, and going to the West Virginia State Fair. She made many friends along the way. She was a very caring and generous woman who was loved and respected by all who knew her. The world was a better place because she was in it and she will be missed very much. In addition to her father she is survived by her special dear friends, Sharon and David Newman, of Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Fairview Cemetery in Nettie, WV on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Gray officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
