Colene Turman Cannaday, 84 of Bedford, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Saturday, November 22, 1930 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Edgar Harmon Turman and Essie Smith Turman. She was also preceded in death by her son, Esley Harmon Cannaday. She was retired from Piedmont Label and was a member of Bedford Baptist Church. Surviving is her husband, Thornton Lee Cannaday; her daughters, Rhonda Gibbons & husband, Michael of Charlotte, NC, Lisa C. Dease & husband, Marc of Forest; granddaughters, Brittanie Berry & husband, Ben of Forest, Emily Gibbons of Raleigh, NC; her grandson, Ryan Gibbons of Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11 AM at Bedford Baptist Church with Dr. David Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
