Obituary of William David Hudson

On Wednesday, April 15, 2015 after a long battle with Alzheimer's/Dementia, William D. "Bill" Hudson found lasting peace with his Lord. He was born on Thursday, August 2, 1928 in Huddleston, a son of the late William Berkley Hudson and Sarah Emmie Quarles Hudson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Viola Hudson St. Clair and Mary Ellen "Chip" Hudson Sprinkle. He is survived by his wife, Susan Lohr Hudson; his sister, Sarah Margaret Thompson; two nieces, two nephews and their families. Bill was a graduate of Huddleston High School and the University of Virginia. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, worked for American Oil Company and retired as Owner/Broker of Lake Retreat Properties, Inc. He was always ready to help his family, his friends, his church and his community. He gave freely of his resources, his time and his talents. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Trinity Ecumenical Parish, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, VA 24121 or Lake Christian Ministries, 13157 Moneta Road, Moneta, VA 24121. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Patmos United Methodist Church with Rev. Philip Bauknight officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
