Walter March Saunders, 74 of Lynch Station, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Autumn Care of Altavista. He was born on Sunday, March 9, 1941 in Bedford County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettsie Spradlin Saunders as well as four brothers & two sisters. He was a retired truck driver with Eastern ITS and was member of Palestine Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Goldie Hackworth Saunders; his sons, Michael Saunders of Lynchburg, Dwayne Saunders of Lynch Station; his daughters, Rhonda Pair of Altavista, Rita Scott & husband, Greg of Clifton Forge; his brothers, Odell Saunders of Grit, Junior Saunders of Lynch Station, James Saunders & friend, Dorothy, Jerry Price & wife, Kathy all of Moneta; grandchildren, Brandon Pair & wife, Brandi of Martinsville, Brittany Pair of Long Island, Tyler West, Dakota Scott, Logan Scott all of Clifton Forge, Emily Saunders of Lynchburg and great-grandchildren, Jordyn Beale, Kaylee Beadles, Emmie Pair, L. B. "Little Man" Beadles. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
